Ariane Wiltse, formerly of Warrenton, is teaming with students and faculty members from the University of Florida on a cleanup mission to the greater New Orleans area.

From Dec. 29 through Jan. 5, they will clear debris and clean homes, working with the Louisiana-based Christian organization PRC Compassion.

Wiltse is asking her former neighbors to donate winter coats, hats and gloves. Also needed are: heavy-duty breathing masks; work gloves; cleaning supplies containing bleach; non-perishable food; hand lotion and hand sanitizers.

"Clothes are not needed," Wiltse said emphatically.

Donations can be dropped off at Rhodes Drug Store on Main Street, Warrenton, through Dec. 27. Wiltse can be reached at (352) 328-7369.
