A Special Thank You from a Federal Air Marshal
This note was received today - our heart in sharing it is simply to demonstrate the incredible impact that the body of Christ can truly make a difference when we join forces with each other.
Hello I'm Federal Air Marshal Peter Crumb I had the pleasure of working hand-in-hand with your volunteers at the New Orleans airport for a few days I spoke with the site commander of FEMA as well as the heads of the Oregon Disaster medical group and personnel from the varous branches of the Armed Forces who were running the triage center. The general verdict was that due to the tireless work of your young volunteers, the operations ran smoothly. They approached the scene to lead the masses in prayer and quickly learned they needed so much more. They gave themselves to the powers in charge and told them in essence, "Do with us what you will. Tell us what to do we will do it. If we don't know how, we will find someone who does. If no one Knows how we will learn." And they did. I personally spoke to the FEMA head and asked that they all be given awards of some type. I fully understand that they were not not there for such trifle things, but words alone can not explain the great gratitude everyone felt for their assistance.... In closing, I must again state the deepest of thanks to the these young men and women for their efforts in the most horrific natural disaster in this country's history.
